Sept 13th – 7C Worldwide Happy Hour – Worldwide
Get together with your 7C friends at a Worldwide Social! What IS a Worldwide Social? Any event at which alumni of the Claremont Colleges gather together! It can be a happy hour, a card game, a play date, a luncheon, a tea, or a tennis game! Check out the list of locations, sign up to be a host, and join the fun!
Sept 16th – New Student ‘Mugging’ – Claremont
On September 16th, we’re welcoming first year and transfer students to Scripps! The ‘mugging’ tradition now includes a handwritten letter from an alumna along with their La Semeuse mug. Join your fellow alums and mingle with new students, as we welcome the Class of 2021 to the Alumnae Association! Can’t make it to campus and want to write a letter? Fill out this form to volunteer.
Sept 25th – Andrea Jarrell ’84 Book Tour – Pasadena
Join Scripps alumnae in celebrating Andrea Jarrell ’84 on her book tour! Come hear Andrea discuss her newly published memoir I’m the One Who Got Away, in a conversation with Lynne Thompson ’72. The reading will be followed by a no-host gathering at Settebello’s.
Sept 30th – Joint Medical School Mock Interview Day for Students & Alums – Claremont
Do you have experience in the field of medicine and want to support Scripps post-bac students by participating as an interviewer? The event will put applicants through 4 different MMI style interview scenarios. Saturday, September 30 from 8:30am-1:30pm. Email CP&R Associate Director Rachael Bratlien for more info.
Oct 4th – Sotheby’s Institute of Art Event – Culver City
Sotheby’s Institute of Art – Los Angeles at Claremont Graduate University, Pomona College and Scripps College cordially invite their alumni to a special joint event: Inland Empire to the Sea: Visual Art and Markets in Los Angeles.This event will discuss how art and the art market has evolved in Los Angeles, the historical and current role of the Claremont Colleges in this development, and the city’s art community.
Panelists include Enrique Martinez Celaya (Provost Professor of Humanities and Arts at the University of Southern California and Professor Emeritus, Pomona College and Claremont Graduate University), Mary MacNaughton (Professor of Art History, Scripps College and Director of the Ruth Chandler Williamson Gallery), Mark Allen (Associate Professor of Art, Pomona College and Executive Director of Machine Project) and moderator Jonathan T. D. Neil (Director, Sotheby’s Institute of Art – Los Angeles at Claremont Graduate University).
